On October 11 and 12, CSE Center of Safety Excellence hosted two working groups of ISO/TC 185 whose chairman is Prof. Dr.-Ing Jürgen Schmidt. The board discussed about the review of two parts of the ISO 4126: “Safety devices for protection against excessive pressure“. The international group consisted of delegates from many different countries, e.g. Germany, Japan, Belgium, USA and Italy. Two different working groups had their meetings at CSE.
On October 11 working group 12 did their work on part 2 of the ISO: “Safety devices for protection against excessive pressure – Part 2: Bursting disc safety devices“. Convenor of this group is Roger Bours from Fike Corporation, Belgium. The participants could also see the CSE high-pressure test facility at the site of Fraunhofer-ICT. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Jürgen Schmidt explained the high-pressure test facility and the measurement possibilities of CSE and Fraunhofer ICT.
The next day, 12th of October, working group 13 discussed about part 3 of the ISO 4126: “Safety devices for protection against excessive pressure – Part 3: Safety valves and bursting disc safety devices in combination“. Convenor of this group is Dean Miller from Fike Corporation, USA.
